This afternoon I suddenly realised today is January 31st and I hadn't shown my finished log cabin quilt. One of my holiday goals was to sew all the covering strips to the back and bind the edges ... all very tedious and the reason I will NOT be making another quilt-as-you-go quilt in a hurry!! It was too sunny outside for quilt photos so these inside shots will have to do. Sorry about the awful colours!!
Did you see that flash of golden furriness in the top right? Yes, Molly (with ball in gob!) was ready to supervise!
Every time I get this quilt out to work on Oliver appears and wants to sit on or in it!! Seems Molly has a similar affliction!
Her ball actually blends in quite well with some of the shirtings!
This sorrowful face is saying, 'Hey, it's very hot and you haven't taken me to the beach yet today'.
Note the contrast
when the 'b' word (beach) is mentioned!
She is sitting out on the deck now drying off from her swim.
Will be back soon to show some new works in progress.
What a beautiful quilt. No wonder your furry assistants want to keep it for themselves. Have a nice day.

Love your finish, Christine, especially the colors.
ReplyDeleteI know those "golden" expressions so well having been blessed with two of them in my lifetime. I think this quilt might be destined as a "doggie blanket"...shared of course with the feline in residence. (wink)
What a beautiful quilt! I think that Molly has picked her favorite quilt. Such cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteLog Cabin quilts have been a favorite of mine ever since I started quilting.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how our family pets are always attracted to a quilt?
Terrific quilt. So the finishing up part is the downside of the "quilt as you go" method, hmmm? I knew there had to be a catch. 8) I enjoy your pictures of Molly and Oliver almost as much as your quilts.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just LOVE the way you have your blog lists sorted; I use them ALL the time. Thanks for being so organized! 8)
Happy quilting,

Your log cabin quilt is stunning. Lots of beautiful fabrics in there. Why is it the furry friends want to come and lie over a quilt when you want to take a photo? Mine do it to me all the time. Ha Ha. My little Buddy goes crazy if we say the W word, he can even pick up on it if we spell it out now.
ReplyDeleteMolly is a marvelous helper.....
ReplyDeleteoh...and....Lovely quilt too!!!

Love the fabrics and colours of this quilt, it's beautiful. I'd been thinking about trying quilt as you go for a quilt that I've almost finished making because it's such a struggle getting a big one through the machine.
