Half Way

Well, so much for lots of posts while on holidays! I have been busy though. Today I thought I'd show how my Scrappy Trip Along quilt looked at the halfway stage.

Don't know about anyone else but I LOVE it.

I couldn't decide which pictures to cull so you're seeing them all. Enjoy.

Since taking these pictures the quilt top has been finished and delivered to Leanne for quilting.

Scandinavian Rose Update

It's been a while since I shared any stitchery blocks for my Scandinavian Rose quilt. I am having a lovely time stitching these blocks designed by Rosalie Quinlan.

The designs are pre-printed onto white hanky linen so there's no tracing by hand involved.

Lots of satin stitch in the one below ... don't look too closely!

These are great to work on while watching TV although I have to sit under a lamp to be able to see well enough!

I have nearly finished another block ... I think I'm about half way with the hand stitching. Back soon.

Down Under Quilts

Have you seen the latest issue of Down Under Quilts? This Australian quilting magazine has a fresh new look and has introduced some new features including ...

Meet a Blogger. Guess who was interviewed in this issue?

There's even a cute picture of Oliver.

Today was the start of school holidays for me. I was once introduced as 'the holiday blogger' so here's hoping I manage to post more regularly during the next fortnight ... I may even permit myself to start some new projects!

Birthday Gifts

Look at all this French General loveliness. I received these gorgeous gifts from Sandi for my birthday earlier this year.

The bag is adorable ... I love the saying Sandi choose ...

and the cute pockets with ric-rac inside.

Hexies are another thing I love so you can imagine how delighted I was with this needlebook. I love how Sandi fussy cut the white fabric ... and it just happens to be one of my favourtie FG fabrics ever.

Inside there are pockets for threads, scissors etc.

This little thread basket is sooo cute. I haven't had one before so this will get lots of use.

I've left the best to last. I LOVE this turtle pincushion .. way too cute to stick pins into.

Thank you, Sandi. I love all my gifts.

Scrappy Blocks

Each weekend I have been sewing a few blocks for my Scrappy Trip Around the World quilt.

I am happy with how the look individually and hope they will look good sewn together too.

Each block started with a 2 1/2 strip of pink, red, green, aqua, grey and white/light.

I am making 36 blocks and using each fabric in only 2 blocks to try and get a really scrappy look.

Today it was grey and rainy here ... perfect sewing weather. I pieced a couple of quilt backs and did some hand stitching.
Hope you found time to stitch too. Bye.

Mission Accomplished!

Yes, I finally put the last stitches in my 2011 Fat Quarter Shop Mystery BOM quilt top ... and it's HUGE! Below are couple of sneaky peeks.

Not sure what I think of those long panels of floral fabric. I think I'd have preferred the spotty fabric in the leaf blocks. Hopefully it will look better once it's quilted.

Have a great week.
