This is a gift I made recently for one of the Material Girls ... a craft group I belong to.
The pattern is in Rosalie Quinlan's book A Stitch in Time.
This is the second one I've made and I'm sure it won't be the last. I stitched on some plain pink Pom Pom di Paris by French General.
I find it easier to piece my backings on stuffed projects like this ... the gap is easier to finish neatly and I don't have to wrestle with the ric-rac at the sides.
Today I pieced together block 1 of the Vignette Mystery Quilt. I'm keen to get going on the stitchery very soon ... will keep you posted.
Lovely Christine...
ReplyDeletethats so pretty
ReplyDeleteoh my that sure is pretty, well done, cheers Vickie
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Christine, piecing the backing. Live the pink. I did this one in red for Christmas & it would have been even better without the hand sewing on the sides. I'll keep that in mind for future ones. Thanks. Tracee xx
ReplyDeleteLovely work
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty..Lovely Gift.
ReplyDeletecheers
SO Pretty and I love your great tip on piecing the back as I hate trying to get those sides even and unpuckered .Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNever even thought about that but it does make sense. And if I use a busy pattern like you did, you almost can't see the seam. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful. And your idea for piecing the back is awesome. Why didn't I ever think of that? Thanks for the great tip.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely !!!! It's a beautiful gift !
