Bibelot

Nearly a year after it was pieced ... Bibelot is finally finished.

This was a scrappy quilt with lots of red, aqua and grey fabrics pulled from my stash.

The quilting is very simple .. 1/4 inch inside each 'T'.

I will learn to stipple and free-motion quilt one day .. just not yet!

The days are getting shorter and darker ... these photos are the best of a very ordinary bunch.

Hope everyone is having a great Easter. I don't go back to school until Wednesday so still a couple of days left to sew.
My mission over Easter has been to get my 2011 Fat Quarter Shop Mystery Designer quilt together. Wish me luck!

Sewing Kit

After the recent bushfires in southern Tasmania our online stitching group decided to make sewing kits to send to those affected by the fires

I used Lynette Anderson fabrics with a sewing theme to make my items ...

 sewing bag,

 thread catcher and ...

pincushion.

I also included some other goodies that I hope made someone happy.

Hope you found time to stitch this weekend. I started a 'secret' project so unfortunately I can't share yet. Have a great week.

Mystery Quilt Blocks

Hello, Remember me? I've had a few 'real life' things going on lately hence my absence from blogland. But today I feel like posting again so thought I'd share my 2012 Designer Mystery Blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop. I love making these blocks and am always excited when the latest one arrives in the post.

Block 6 - Town Square by Kate Spain

Block 7 - Moonlight Serenade by Sandy Gervais.

Block 8 - Lime Sherbet by Bonnie Olaveson and Camille Roskelley

Block 9 - Lakeside Retreat by Joanna Figueroa

It is a long weekend in Tassie ... so nice to delay the usual Sunday night getting ready for the school week stuff 'til tomorrow. I might even sit and do some hand stitching this afternoon .. not much of that has happened since January!
