Thrift Shop Hop

Recently Kathy and I went on another little thrift shop hop, this time to Wynyard.

I was delighted to find some more wooden spools ... building up a nice little collection of these.

Also found this thread box ...
not sure of it's vintage but I liked it a lot.

This jar of buttons also caught my eye.

I bought this basket with Oliver in mind ... he has one in most rooms of the house. However, it looks so good in my sewing room that he may be lucky to get it!

Although he was very interested ....

and decided ...

he really should try it out for size!

I think my buy of the day was this case I found for $5 at Save a Buck. I am intending to use it to carry all my bits and pieces when I go to classes and gatherings. Kathy was very jealous!

It's been a while since Molly featured in blogland. Here she is posing in front of my purchases ...

then having a big snooze.

  9. Hey Cristine! Oh - I'm with Kathy - love the little case!! I collect old ports (suitcases!) and have them piled in a couple of rooms for extra storage and the top ones sit open to provide bear seating for my ever-growing bear population! Love how your Angel blocks are coming up too - well done! Bear Hugs! KRIS

  13. Christine,

Cute blog and lovely stitching ! I am enjoying seeing it all. I also have a collection of wooden spools, many are from my Grandmother, so they have special meaning. I am currently working on Winter Wonderland, a redwork snowman quilt, I need to post about it yet though. I love embroidery, and it is fun to see what you have been doing.

    Happy New Year,

    Beth

  29. What wonderful treasure you found on your trip to the thrift shop.
It looks as though Oliver gave the new basket his seal of approval - you'll probably need his permission if you want to use it :)
Molly seems such a gentle soul and looks good posing in front of your finds.
