A Christmas Wish

I have finished the first block of Gail Pan's free BOM, A Christmas Wish.

I decided I would make up the other 8 blocks now so each month I'll only have to trace on the design and stitch it. Hopefully this will save some time later on when I'm back at work.
Looking forward to seeing the design for block 2.

  7. Question for you about pressing the finished blocks. I just pressed my first two Polka-Dot Girls blocks and may have ruined them. Before stitching I ironed on a Pellon interfacing, as instructed. Now, after ironing, the fabric between the stitching looks all bubble. Like the fabric and interfacing have separated. How do you press stitchery blocks?

  23. Very clever to do the rest of the blocks up in advance. I only got as far as cutting the rest of the center block and then stopped.

  35. Hello, I'm new to stitching and to your blog. I just completed my first block last week.. was a BOM from '08 that I saved as I followed along..

anyway your "love" block is another I am hoping to start making. I love the fabrics you choose... mind sharing what color numbers of DMC floss you used?

You are smart to make the blocks up ahead of time and I see that you found some frey stoppa so taht should help.. other wise I'd suggest cutting those boarder strips a little widder.. then trim to the perfect size before piecing together if you had freyed edges.

Oh, and your photos are EXCELENT! I am drooling all over my keyboard looking at those and the applique project above. :) I'll be back - bookmarking your blog for sure! Love from Texas! ~bonnie
