I am a BIG fan of Camille's patterns and fabrics. I recently purchased her latest book and ...
this week started my Fresh quilt. I love Camille's version made from Marmalade. It is constructed from 2 layer cakes and lots of white fabric. I only had one Marmalade layer cake but had enough other bits to cut out the extra squares. You cut the layer cake into four 5 inch squares so charm packs would work well for this pattern too.
So far I have made four blocks ...
with each finishing at 24 inches.
They are big ...
actually huge is a better description!

ReplyDeleteI recently purchased the same book and was looking at the same quilt. I love many quilts in this book. Your block is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christine, I started a sort of scrappy version of Fresh with all my Bonnie and Camille scraps this week, and I am loving the blocks. Simply Retro is a beautiful book....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the journey Christine...looking fantastic.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I have a lot of the same fabric. Now I need to buy the book. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteHer fabrics are gorgeous and so are your blocks...
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful! I have this book too, and I love Marmalade (the fabric & the conserve!)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the finished quilt too :-)
Happy sewing and enjoy the holidays.
Xx
Wow always great looking at what interests we are all into
ReplyDeleteLovely bright fabrics and a great pattern.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holidays.
What a nice coincedence ! i found the same pattern lovely and decided to show it my mum, because she also wants to make something.
ReplyDeleteAnd you use beautiful colourful patterns !
This is going to be gorgeous, Marmalade makes everything look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block, love the idea that four blocks could make a lap size quilt!! Thanks for sharing, might need to purchase the book just so I can make the pattern. PS a friend buys layer cakes with her sister, cuts them into 4, they take 2 (now charm packs) each and then challenge each other to make a project from the same fabric, she said is cheaper then buying charm packs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics for great blocks !!
ReplyDeleteFlorence
Love your blocks. I must get my hands on this book!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan too. Have the book and love it. You've started my favourite quilt and it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat is my favourite in the book too! Marmalade is SO pretty xx
ReplyDeleteI Love the fabrics you have chosen. The block sizes are great and look beautiful . Must look for the book.
ReplyDeleteI too have begun a Fresh crib quilt for our granddaughter due in Dec. I've combined Marmalade stash with most of the Scrumptious layer cake with a few Happy Go Lucky thrown in. Loving it so far. Ive made a few of Camille's patterns with her Craftsy class. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo it's worth buying this book then? I've hummed and hahhed about it for a while now. I love Camille's fabrics and patterns in general so thought it might be worth the money getting the book.
