Fresh

I am a BIG fan of Camille's patterns and fabrics. I recently purchased her latest book and ...

this week started my Fresh quilt. I love Camille's version made from Marmalade. It is constructed from 2 layer cakes and lots of white fabric. I only had one Marmalade layer cake but had enough other bits to cut out the extra squares. You cut the layer cake into four 5 inch squares so charm packs would work well for this pattern too.

So far I have made four blocks ...

with each finishing at 24 inches.

 They are big ...

actually huge is a better description!

Twelve blocks to go ... I am hoping to do at least one a day while on holidays.

  14. What a great block, love the idea that four blocks could make a lap size quilt!! Thanks for sharing, might need to purchase the book just so I can make the pattern. PS a friend buys layer cakes with her sister, cuts them into 4, they take 2 (now charm packs) each and then challenge each other to make a project from the same fabric, she said is cheaper then buying charm packs.

  20. I too have begun a Fresh crib quilt for our granddaughter due in Dec. I've combined Marmalade stash with most of the Scrumptious layer cake with a few Happy Go Lucky thrown in. Loving it so far. Ive made a few of Camille's patterns with her Craftsy class. :-)

  21. So it's worth buying this book then? I've hummed and hahhed about it for a while now. I love Camille's fabrics and patterns in general so thought it might be worth the money getting the book.
