Cherry Sundae

Block 5 of the 2012 Designer Mystery BOM from the Fat Quarter Shop is Cherry Sundae. This cute block was designed by Barb Adams and Alma Allen of Blackbird Designs.

This weekends sewing mainly fell into the 'secret' category although I did trim the edges of this quilt ...

and try to decide what fabric to use for a binding. No decision yet!

I also remembered to take a photo of these hexies. Have to confess I've lost count of how many of these I've actually stitched!

I've decided that during the summer holidays my stitching time will be divided between quilting my Schnibble quilts and taking stock of all my 'works in progress'. That's the plan anyway .. wonder if I'll stick to it!

  2. I love the Hexie flowers. My plan for the holidays is just to sew, without feeling apprehensive to begin something coz I won't see it for another week. I'm a teacher working 4 days a week, with 3 little kids so sewing time is rare and precious.

  3. I always love your fabric choices Christine. I have started writing a Christmas break list, but maybe need to remind myself I only get 2 weeks off. A reassessment of the WIP's is a great idea. Tracee xx

  15. Love the new block, and the fussy cutting for the centre of it. Hexies take so long to make enough for a quilt, hope yours gets together faster than mine!

  16. Love your red quilt, please can you tell me what fabrics you used? I love the red/grey combination - that's exactly what I'm looking for for our new bed quilt, but haven't managed to find any suitable fabrics yet. Thanks :-)
