Block 5 of the 2012 Designer Mystery BOM from the Fat Quarter Shop is Cherry Sundae. This cute block was designed by Barb Adams and Alma Allen of Blackbird Designs.
This weekends sewing mainly fell into the 'secret' category although I did trim the edges of this quilt ...
and try to decide what fabric to use for a binding. No decision yet!
I also remembered to take a photo of these hexies. Have to confess I've lost count of how many of these I've actually stitched!
I've decided that during the summer holidays my stitching time will be divided between quilting my Schnibble quilts and taking stock of all my 'works in progress'. That's the plan anyway .. wonder if I'll stick to it!
Your FG quilt looks lovely. Looking forward to seeing it revealed. Nice bright hexies too.
ReplyDeleteI love the Hexie flowers. My plan for the holidays is just to sew, without feeling apprehensive to begin something coz I won't see it for another week. I'm a teacher working 4 days a week, with 3 little kids so sewing time is rare and precious.
ReplyDeleteI always love your fabric choices Christine. I have started writing a Christmas break list, but maybe need to remind myself I only get 2 weeks off. A reassessment of the WIP's is a great idea. Tracee xx
ReplyDeletethese blocks are so pretty Christine, well done.xx
ReplyDeleteJust in time for the next block to arrive.
ReplyDeleteI reckon a red binding would look pretty good...
oh, you tease. :) Can't wait to see the full quilt!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the entire quilt. :-) Your hexies are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlways lots of fabulous eye candy to see.
I am with LynCc I want to see the whole quilt. It looks beautiful. And I love your square!
ReplyDeleteI'll hope you reveal later the whole quilt, I love every thing French General so much that i'm afraid of using my "stash". Maybe if I see your reveal it will encourage me.
ReplyDeleteoooh all your projects look so cute! Love your hexie flowers and your Mystery quilt block!
ReplyDeleteYes we want to see the full FG quilt- it's beautiful! And the block and hexies are really pretty too! I should make a Summer seeing list too! Maybe today....
ReplyDeleteWow block 5 looks gorgeous! I'm on block 4 with blocks 1 & 2 finished.... Love the hexies can't wait to see what you do with them... sounds like a good plan for the holidays...
ReplyDeleteOhh looking forward to the finished quilt photos! So exciting when you get the binding stage. I think the hexies are so pretty, surely you must have enough for a quilt top now?!
ReplyDeleteLove your mystery block - the colours are wonderful. Looking forward to seeing your lovely Schnibble finished.
ReplyDeleteLove the new block, and the fussy cutting for the centre of it. Hexies take so long to make enough for a quilt, hope yours gets together faster than mine!
ReplyDeleteLove your red quilt, please can you tell me what fabrics you used? I love the red/grey combination - that's exactly what I'm looking for for our new bed quilt, but haven't managed to find any suitable fabrics yet. Thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your secret makes sometime too,
have a happy Monday
xx
Lots and lots of eye candy and inspiration Christine! Your BOM is gorgeous and it seems like you have a good plan for this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the quilt in the Rouenneries fabric and the hexagons are very pretty.
