I've been quite productive this week and have a couple of finishes to share.
This is the stitchery designed by Rosalie Quinlan that I started at Campania a fortnight ago.
I found the frame stashed in a cupboard and decided it would do nicely for this project.
All the fabrics are from Heather Mulder Peterson's range called Cottage Charm.
It was very warm yesterday and Oliver decided the cutting mat was a good place to sprawl out for a siesta!
During the week I attached the binding to this little quilt made from Simplicity scraps. Much as I love Simplicity, I find the pastel colours difficult to photograph well!
The back is pieced from random sized strips as I couldn't bear to cut into any of my bigger pieces.
A close-up of the back.
I also finished my gift and ornament for Chookyblue's Secret Santa Christmas Swap. (We are not supposed to show any sneak peeks so I will share after Christmas) and have the binding ready to stitch down on another Christmas quilt. Hope your week was productive too.
Looks realy nice the frame matches well Oliver looks soo comfy doesnt he
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty stitchery. And I love the little quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like the addition of the patchwork fabrics to the top and bottom of the stitchery. Well done.

Christine you have been busy...love the framed stitchery...
ReplyDeleteLove your little stitchery. The frame matches it perfectly! The little pastel quilt is very nice too. I know what you mean by not wanting to cut into bigger pieces of fabric. But the strips work well for the back. Oliver looks so comfy! What a great helper!
ReplyDeletebeautiful sttichery - framed looks great...........I love simplicity......
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such beautiful finished projects. How good do you feel? I agree with you about the difficulties of photographing pastels - it's tough. But you've captured yours really well - the colours are very true to life. For those of us who have a stash of Simplicity, we know the exact colours!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Just love your framed 'Way Back Home' stitchery...just gorgeous! I have mine traced and ready to stitch Lisa
ReplyDeleteYou have been productive!! I love your little quilt -- the backing is fabulous! The pictures of Oliver made me laugh -- typical cat finding a cool space to sprawl out!
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been busy Christine. Your stitching looks lovely in the frame.
ReplyDeleteWOW I am impressed - a finish and two!!!!
ReplyDeleteChristine, your finishes are gorgeous, the colours are very pretty and the frame looks like you went and chose it specially for the stitchery, isn't Oliver the cutest...
ReplyDeleteI love the soft colors of your work. Heather Mulder Peterson's fabrics are lovely. So is the needlework you have finished and framed. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteBoy, you did get a lot finished. Doesn't it feel good! Were you on holiday last week? I have to keep reminding myself as it gets colder here in the states, it gets warmer where you are!
ReplyDeleteCats (and dogs) always know the best places to cool off!

Rosalie is so talented, and so are you. Your cat is darling. I want it.
ReplyDeleteI just had to chuckle, that Ollie looks so much like my Rolo. Especially the way he lays down. Isn't it funny how they just have to approve of your projects. I definitely like the way this one turned out, just lovely in the frame.
ReplyDeleteThese embroideries are sooo nice!!! And so ist the little quilt - but, above all I just love Oliver :))
