A Week of Finishes

I've been quite productive this week and have a couple of finishes to share.
This is the stitchery designed by Rosalie Quinlan that I started at Campania a fortnight ago.

I found the frame stashed in a cupboard and decided it would do nicely for this project.

All the fabrics are from Heather Mulder Peterson's range called Cottage Charm.

It was very warm yesterday and Oliver decided the cutting mat was a good place to sprawl out for a siesta!

During the week I attached the binding to this little quilt made from Simplicity scraps. Much as I love Simplicity, I find the pastel colours difficult to photograph well!

The back is pieced from random sized strips as I couldn't bear to cut into any of my bigger pieces.

A close-up of the back.

I also finished my gift and ornament for Chookyblue's Secret Santa Christmas Swap. (We are not supposed to show any sneak peeks so I will share after Christmas) and have the binding ready to stitch down on another Christmas quilt. Hope your week was productive too.

  6. Love your little stitchery. The frame matches it perfectly! The little pastel quilt is very nice too. I know what you mean by not wanting to cut into bigger pieces of fabric. But the strips work well for the back. Oliver looks so comfy! What a great helper!

  8. Congratulations on such beautiful finished projects. How good do you feel? I agree with you about the difficulties of photographing pastels - it's tough. But you've captured yours really well - the colours are very true to life. For those of us who have a stash of Simplicity, we know the exact colours!

  15. Boy, you did get a lot finished. Doesn't it feel good! Were you on holiday last week? I have to keep reminding myself as it gets colder here in the states, it gets warmer where you are!

Cats (and dogs) always know the best places to cool off!

  19. I just had to chuckle, that Ollie looks so much like my Rolo. Especially the way he lays down. Isn't it funny how they just have to approve of your projects. I definitely like the way this one turned out, just lovely in the frame.
