Yesterday I finished the top of a quilt for my sister's friends little boy. It is very windy today, so this is the best picture of a bad lot!
You can see the colours a bit better here. The squares and outer border were all cut from a stripy piece of fabric from Spotlight. There are pale blue spots on the white border.
It took a while to cut the squares as Oliver wanted to play too! Yes, he is under there somewhere!
He'd just pulled the fabric off the table. So helpful ... NOT!
In no particular order, here are some photos of my 'brat cat'. (If you're not into cats now would be a good time to click onto another blog!)
Time for a little rest after all that excitement.
I finally got the fabric up on the table again, but Oliver still wasn't quite ready for any cutting to begin. More 'brat' pictures ahead!
Oh Christine I love reading and seeing what Oliver gets up too..oops oh hey the quilt looks great . I think Oliver was just testing it out for sturdiness...cheers Vickie
ReplyDeleteCute!!! I love that they think they are being "helpful".
ReplyDeleteChristine,
ReplyDeleteOliver is a great assistant- he wants you to make sure that you have no loose ends and that you have got all the wrinkles out.
very lovely quilt-
Mars would approve of Oliver's technique...
Rolling and mashing are what cats do best VBG

Christine, how adorable. I love the way our "babies" insist on helping out whenever there is a comfortable quilt top in the making.
ReplyDeleteOscar is so adorable. My son's cat would so approve of Oscars antics. Hugs, Jeanette
ReplyDeletenaah, not a brat cat. just a mummy's boy methinks. he's just road testing the merchandise, that's all.
ReplyDeletejulie :)
What a lovely pictures Christine!...i thinks most of the cats like fabric too..mine is always here to lent a helping "catleg" and your quilt is great...cute colors too..
ReplyDeletegreetings Francien.
You just can't be cross at him - the photos made me smile and laugh! Cats- gotta love 'em. Carmel
ReplyDeletelike the quilt love Oliver he is just soo cute that last pic is fantastic, well School tomorrow for you I guess, hope you had a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteHugs
The quilt is so cuddly looking = how could Oliver resist????
ReplyDeleteWish I could reach right through the computer screen and scratch him under the chin.
Thoroughly enjoy hearing about "Oliver's Quilting Adventures" - sounds like the title for a book
I love the quilt, but just love Oliver's antics. He is just too cute to be a brat. In cat news here, I had a layout of blocks on the floor (design wall was not free). Bad choice of the floor, you can just imagine what happened next. The layout was not my layout any more, but Pavi's!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, he wants attention and know how to do it, oh yes cats rule!, grin.
ReplyDeleteI had a cat once that thought he had to sit on my lap while I was working on my computer, if all else failed he would lay across my feet (putting them to sleep), but he would be right there if I was in the house.

Love the Oliver pictures!! He was just adding some extra warmth to the quilt in the form of some kitty hair! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhy do cats love a pile of fabric so much!
ReplyDeleteBrat cat? No way! Just offering his contribution to the quilt! Puttin' the luv in! At least that's what my furry feline told me.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't seem so bratty as playful. He must ve trying to get some attention! My cat is mad at me for taking in two new dogs and threw up on the quilt I had in progress. Fortunately it was on the excess batting near the edge and I could cut it off.
ReplyDeleteOh...I had to stay once you mentioned more kitty photos! I never turn down a kitty photo!! He is just to darned adorable.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, love the colours in your quilt....soothing...hmmm it is not only cats that like to be brats...Warm Regards Lyn
ReplyDeleteOliver is welcome to come "inspect" my quilting any time he wants. His hair is a whooooole lot shorter than my darling doggie (who is totally clueless round cats) :)
ReplyDeleteLovely top! And Oliver is once again adorable. What a great cat to have with you (O:
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt likes my cat,hihi.
Greetings Jenny
I love the way you have so much "help"! I love your embroidery and your quilting is brilliant. I've just found your blog and I'll be back, it's great!
ReplyDeleteOliver is just adorable!!! I have a batch of brat cats myself, so I'm always overjoyed to see other people having the same enjoyment I do. LOL
ReplyDeleteOliver is just way too funny :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing the cute shots I think you could forgive him anything.
Ooops! I was enjoying Oliver's antics so much I quite forgot to say that it is a lovely quilt!
