Our Saint Bernard, Bucky, had one of those years ago. I'm glad your vet went straight to the splint; that should do the trick. Our vet initially tried to just drain the darn thing, only to have it fill right back up. Poor Bucky had to have his ear shaved (he looked so lopsided) and have mattress stitches with bugle beads "installed" on his ear. Apparently the key is to get the ear to make lots of scar tissue so the hematoma (blood blister) won't reform. It worked for Bucky, he never had another problem; I hope Molly is as lucky. Poor old girl! I remember Bucky coming home, still groggy from the aenestesia. He HAD to walk the perimeter of our yard, as always (duty before sleep), so I walked it with him to keep him from bumping into things and falling over. He's been dead almost 13 years; still miss old Buck.

Happy stitching,
Susan
http://www.susanintexas.blogspot.comSusan In Texashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165885066527557584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6201310907065713847.post-85034476546464044722009-05-07T14:08:00.000+10:002009-05-07T14:08:00.000+10:00Just found your blog - it's so pretty!
